The effects of climate change impacts on all living beings. As such it is wise and logical to work together for a greater outcome.

As leaders in wildlife conservation and animal care, zoos are in a unique position to showcase environmental sustainability and inspire others to take action to conserve wildlife and our natural world.

We are now creating and exploring mutually beneficial partnerships with governments, businesses and individuals to enhance our environmental sustainability. These partnerships will support innovation, best practice, education and resource efficiency.

Some partnership projects we are exploring:

• Making precincts (eg. Trail of the Elephants) carbon neutral.
• Greening events like our Zoo Twilight series.
• Renewable Energy from solar, wind or biomass for precincts and exhibits.
• Closing the loop on our recycled waste products.
• Water harvesting and recycling.
