Worm Farm 

Through a funding from Sustainability Victoria, a commercial worm farm was installed at Healesville Sanctuary. This worm farm is above ground, vermin proof and has the facility for viewing when conducting educational programs and tours.

When fully commisioned, the worm farm is cabable of processing 400 kgs of organic waste per week from our animal husbandry and catering. We are also collecting food waste from our visitors. This will ensure that all organics waste at Healesville is processed on site.
