Melbourne audiences were treated to an early preview of what Hugh Jackman is calling the most important documentary of the year - The Burning Season.
The documentary is narrated by Hugh Jackman and is a film about climate change that offers inspiration and hope and asks the question: can you make money, and save the environment? The film follows Dorjee Sun, a young entrepreneur not afraid to single-handedly confront the biggest challenge of our time - deforestation, climate change and changing the way we value our precious forests. It also explores the devastating impact of deforestation on orang-utans.
Dorjee Sun and the film's writer, director and producer, Cathy Henkell visited Melbourne Zoo's Orang-utan family in their sanctuary today.
Following its triumphant release and five sold out screenings in New York at this year's Tribeca Film Festival, the new theatrical version of THE BURNING SEASON is coming to Melbourne at Cinema Nova on Wednesday June 3 ahead of its sold-out Sydney Film Festival debut.
The Burning Season has the support of some powerful Hollywood names including Hugh Jackman, Al Gore and Arnold Schwarzenegger.
