Corroboree Frog

Corroboree Frog

The tiny Southern Corroboree Frog is a spectacularly colourful species with well-defined black and yellow markings. It has yellow, white and black blotches on its underside. The pattern on each frog is individual.

Adults grow to 25-30 mm.

The range or the Southern Corroborree Frog is small, limited to bogs and surrounding woodland in the heart of Kosciuszko National Park. In winter, adults shelter in thick undergrowth and leaf litter of the snow gum forests. In summer they move to the moist sphagnum moss bogs for their short breeding season.
