Zoo to Iramoo

Grasslands of the Victorian Volcanic Plain contain a diverse range of amazing species interacting together.

This program provides a unique opportunity for students to get to know our local native grasslands and take real action to help restore this critically endangered ecosystem.

By participating in Zoo to Iramoo students will:

  • explore the operation of a grassland ecosystem, the interaction between living and non-living things and their exchange of energy
  • determine the impact of human activities in the past and present on the grassland ecosystem and determine actions to address those threats
  • analyse the amazing adaptations that grassland species have to survive and thrive
  • participate in a citizenship activity that contributes to the environmental sustainability of a local grassland ecosystem at Iramoo.
