Attention all party animals: come and join the birthday celebrations at Healesville Sanctuary this Sunday 30 May 2010.

Healesville Sanctuary has been a loved and treasured asset for all Victorians for 76 years, attracting more than 300,000 visitors every year.

There are many wonderful reasons to join in the birthday party, including free entry for anyone celebrating their birthday this weekend, anyone turning 76 years old this year or anyone born in 1976 (photo ID required).

As well as getting to know some of Australia's favorite native animals, visitors will enjoy the spectacular Birds of Prey presentation, Wildlife Hospital, Parrots in Flight display and brand new Dingo Country exhibit.

There will be party cake for everyone who visits the Sanctuary Shop. With every dollar spent supporting its amazing work with Australia's native wildlife, the Sanctuary Shop has many unique Australian made products featuring special merchandise made in the beautiful Yarra Valley.

Healesville Sanctuary's Director John Gibbons has extended an open invitation. "Come and join us in celebrating the Sanctuary's journey: our breeding successes, our conservation efforts and the talented staff who continue to care for our precious and unique Australian animals," says Mr. Gibbons. "In the world of Australian zoos, animal sanctuaries and wildlife parks, there is nothing quite like Healesville Sanctuary. Since first opening in 1934, the Sanctuary has grown to become a tourism icon with an emotional connection to generations of Australian and international visitors."

Healesville Sanctuary is open 9am to 5pm every day of the year.
